Better than a movie where the mouths are closed and the room is dark…Come paint ceramics with your child and learn some things you never knew!  Believe me when I say kids say the darndest things when they paint.  After five years of teaching clay classes I have heard things that made me giggle, cringe, and really wonder what else they can be thinking!!! Do you have a Boy Scout who would like to earn his Pottery Merit Badge?  Fired Up has a potters wheel, tools, clay, instruction, and a Merit Badge Counselor for the Pottery elective.  Three sessions will need to be scheduled for completion with Sarah Hopkin, registered Boy Scouts of America Merit Badge Counselor for Pottery!  Bring your blue signature cards with you and be ready to learn the world of clay, firings, and techniques.  Times and dates can be flexible to fit the schedule of your group, call me today for details!  Do Your BEST!!!

Courtney’s Sand Castle is a universal playground which will be developed as a part of the Vista Hermosa/La Pata Community Park.  It will serve both special need children and adults as well as able bodied children.  Your tile contribution brings us one step closer to the FUN!!! For the FIRST time in Fired UP history we are moving into a MOSAIC direction! This summer we have scheduled our first mosaic tile clay class.  The above creation was my first attempt and the finished product if I do say so myself is pretty AWESOME!!!  It was a difficult task for me to wrap my brain around…design, cut, and then cut into pieces???  I thought my brain was going to hemmorage!  But alas, I trusted my teacher and went with it and man am I glad I did!!!  What MESSY creative fun!  If you know a hand full of interested artists and would like to form your own Mosaic Class, feel free to call and schedule a time with me 949-498-3929.  Every home should have a handmade paving stone to greet their guests, come into Fired Up and step into your first creation experience!

This is a group of ladies from my past that has re-entered my present and lemme tell ya I look forward to the future!  The Harris girls have touched my life in so many ways.  They are a family of teachers and coaches that have dedicated their lives to children from elementary to high school, including mine!  Talk aboot GOOD people, it doesn’t get any better than them!  For Mothers Day this year each daughter painted a teacup and saucer for Mama Harris while she painted the teapot. After her base coat was applied, each daughter then painted her flower design onto Mama’s teapot!  Wa-La AMAZING results followed and I cannot wait to hear how they feel after seeing the finished product.  When I presented the box to Kassie she told me it was the BEST Mothers Day idea they had ever planned together! (goosebumps) That made my day, week, and year!!!  I LOVE making peoples days!!!  Are we Fired UP or what??!!

From Claremont to San Clemente, Fired Up is the place to go when guests arrive from out of town! Bring your nieces, nephews, moms, dads, grandparents, everyboodie!!!!  We have a wide selection of choices and more colors than we need to choose from in the paint room.  Rather than sit in a dark movie theatre being quiet, why not come to our ceramic studio and chat, wine, and dine while you allow your creative juices to flow into your masterpiece.  Don’t think you have any artistic talent?? BUT you CAN do it!  I hear it daily from all you humble artists that say you can’t but then come up with the most amazing pieces!!!  You CAN at Fired Up and you WILL if you make the effort to walk thru our historic Ole Hanson door and into your future as a ceramicist!  Warning…you may never want to leave and you may fall victim to being one of my dare I say it…REGULARS!!!  But from what I hear from the ones I have now, it ain’t so bad! This sentimental, loving, and thought-FULL Grandma carries on the hand print tradition from when her kids were little to her family’s next generation. Her granddaughter helps paint hers and brothers clay impressions while spending another quality day with Grandma.  First they had brought in her mama’s hand print from the 70s and had Fired Up mimic the size and cut.  And then today they spent an afternoon painting the plaques to surprise Mama!  What an AWESOME gift to give!!!  Nothing says I LOVE YOU like a memory set in clay!  Make your appointment today before they are asking you to do yours at 90??!!  We recently got my Grandpa’s prints w/ the GREAT Grandkids’ in clay, he’ll be 90 this July, talk aboot a keepsake!  Remember these lil sprouts grow faster than we can imagine, call me  949-498-3929, mention this BLOG post and I’ll throw in a FREE individual hand/foot print.  Fired UP!!!
